POTENSI GAS METANA BATUBARA PADA FORMASI WARUKIN DI DAERAH BATUSOPANG, KABUPATEN PASER, PROVINSI KALIMANTAN TIMUR
Abstract
Penelitian potensi gas metana batubara dilakukan pada Formasi Warukin di Cekungan Pasir, Kalimantan Timur tepatnya di daerah Batusopang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi gas metana batubara dengan menggunakan metode pengukuran slow desorption. Berdasarkan hasil pemboran di daerah penelitian ditemukan 12 lapisan (seam) batubara dengan ketebalan berkisar antara 0,35 s.d. 2,20 m pada kedalaman terletak antara 8,35 s.d. 389,30 m. Pengukuran kandungan gas di daerah penelitian hanya dilakukan pada 6 lapisan (seam) batubara yang ditemukan di kedalaman 235,05 s.d. 389,30 m dikarenakan pada kedalaman tersebut diperkirakan kandungan gas metana batubara memiliki potensi yang cukup baik. Ketebalan batubara yang dilakukan pengukuran kandungan gasnya berkisar antara 0,38 s.d. 2,20 m dengan notifikasi lapisan (seam) batubara dari bawah ke atas yaitu C, E, F, H, I dan J. Hasil pengukuran kandungan gas metana batubara di daerah penelitian
bervariasi antara 5,07 s.d. 102,75 standard cubic feet/ton atau 0,14 s.d. 3,19 m
/ton dengan nilai kalori berkisar antara 2,357 s.d. 6,840 kalori/gr.
